Halstead families, here’s our weekly attendance update for April 20-24. This week our overall attendance was 93.25%. While we are below our 96% goal and each grade dipped slightly from last week, it’s important to remember that all it takes is one student showing up every day to positively change a grade level’s average.
Here’s how each grade level did:
• Kinder: 92.92%
• 1st: 94.02%
• 2nd: 93.80%
• 3rd: 93.23%
• 4th: 90.31%
• 5th: 94.72%
As we head into the last month of the 2025-2026 school year, these final weeks truly matter. Let’s make them count by showing up every day, on time, and ready to learn. Thank you, families, for your continued support! We’re stronger when we work together. Let’s finish strong, Bulldawgs! 💛💙🐾

During Family Book Club, families will come together to discuss last month’s book, create a fun craft tied to the story, listen to a chapter of next month’s book, and take that book home to enjoy together.

Even though we didn’t meet our campus goal overall, we’re getting closer and have plenty of opportunity to improve each week.

Our 3rd-5th graders are STAAR‑ready!
We kicked off testing season with an exciting STAAR Pep Rally featuring a surprise performance by the Copperettes.
Students showed off their knowledge by answering STAAR tips questions, sharing best testing practices and ways to beat test stress for a chance to win prizes. So proud of our students’ confidence, focus, and school spirit! We can't wait to see all their hard work pay off!💙💛

Yesterday was our "Purple Up Day" take two, and the students totally rocked it, showing so much love to our military kids! We're obsessed with all the purple decorations, made by the students and put up by our amazing secret helper; you know who you are! We can't thank you enough for all you do.

Halstead Elementary is proud to be recognized as a Common Sense School, supporting CCISD’s achievement as a Common Sense District. This recognition highlights our ongoing focus on helping students navigate technology in safe, responsible, and thoughtful ways.

Through classroom lessons and daily practice, our students are learning how to:

✅Make smart choices that keep them safe

Today, for Purple Up Day, we welcomed special guests to the library for kindergarten story time. The children learned about the strength and resilience our military-connected students demonstrate every day.

Thank you to our adopt-a-unit, for your continued partnership and support!

We had a blast with Purple Up! Day last Friday! Some awesome soldiers came by and gave out purple beads to every student. Our students came decked out in their best purple outfits to really show just how much we love and support our military connected students! Huge thanks to our MFLC, Ms. Hart, for the beads!

Halstead’s overall attendance this week was 95.04%. While we didn’t reach our 96% goal this time, we still have 6 weeks in this year to reach our goal. We are so close and every day is a new chance to improve!

A day so nice, Halstead’s celebrating it twice! 💜🐾 Mark your calendars for April 15th and Purple Up with us for Month of the Military Child! Because one day just isn’t enough to celebrate our amazing kids!

In honor of Month of the Military Child 💜, Ms. Peoples’ class enjoyed a special read-aloud with a special story time guest! Thank you for supporting and inspiring our amazing military-connected students! 🐾💙💛

Our students came together to celebrate the Month of the Military Child by helping decorate our school with their beautiful creations. Our Military Family Life Counselor, Ms. Hart, worked alongside students as they stamped their fingerprints to create their own dandelion artwork.

Dandelions are a symbol of military children because of their strength, resilience, and ability to grow and thrive wherever they are planted.

Our students got to take a closer look at caring for others during our Career Day!

From a dedicated nurse to a TCHATT therapist, and even our incredible student health presenters from Cove High school, our Bulldawgs saw firsthand the many paths to making a difference in the medical field.

Thank you to our guest speakers for sharing your knowledge, experiences, and heart for helping others. You’re inspiring the next generation of caregivers and leaders! 🐾💙💛

Halstead parents and families please join us for our P.A.C. meeting to discuss our PFE survey results and areas for improvement. We will also be discussing the use of our remaining of Title 1 funds, and plan upcoming PFE events. The meeting will be held on Thursday, April 9th, 2026 at 3:30 - 4:00 pm.
