If your child has been mysteriously “losing” jackets, hoodies, or sweatshirts, chances are they’re all hanging out together waiting to be claimed. Please check the Lost & Found before Friday, because cold weather + winter break = sad, lonely coats.

Fifth grade students had a great time learning how to make grilled cheese with Ms. Peoples. From buttering the bread to flipping the sandwich at just the right moment, students learned the steps needed to create a perfectly golden grilled cheese. Along the way, they practiced following directions, kitchen safety, and responsibility while preparing a classic favorite.

The elves had been hard at work, and the magic of the season filled Halstead for Santa Night! Families joined us for a festive evening full of smiles, holiday cheer, and special moments with Santa. From photos and crafts to simply spending time together, it was a joyful night that truly captured the spirit of the season.

We loved welcoming the S.C. Lee Junior High Band and Choir to Halstead Elementary for a festive holiday performance! Their Christmas Tour brought music, cheer, and inspiration to our campus and gave our students a glimpse of the amazing opportunities that await them in the years ahead.

Santa Night Correction
We would like to share a quick clarification regarding our upcoming Santa Night. The event will be held on Thursday, December 11th, from 4:30 to 6:00 PM. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused and truly appreciate your patience and understanding.

Our 5th graders in Ms. Tollette’s class turned detectives the other day as they investigated a mock crime scene to learn all about the three branches of government! Through hands-on clues and teamwork, students discovered how the legislative, executive, and judicial branches each play an important role in making and upholding laws. Learning civics has never been this exciting!

Our young wizards brewed up some magic in the library the other day! Students mixed ingredients, made predictions, and watched their potions fizz, bubble, and come to life. Hands-on learning + imagination = pure enchantment!
As we head into this holiday break, we want to wish all of our Hettie Halstead families and staff a happy and restful holiday. There will be no school November 24th through 28th.

What a special morning at Halstead! A huge thank-you to all the Veterans who joined us for our Veterans Day Parade and breakfast. Your service, bravery, and commitment mean the world to our students and staff.
