Please remember all costumes must follow school dress code and can not include face paint, masks, or any type of face covering.

Halstead it’s time for Spooky Science Night!
Put on your favorite costume and join us for an evening filled with exciting experiments and surprises.
October 23rd from 5:30-7PM
Whether you’re filling your candy bucket at the Trunk or Treat, exploring our exciting experiment tables, grabbing a treat from the PTO’s concessions, joining the cake walk, or checking out the Bookfair, this night has something fun for the whole family!

Smiles, slices, and sweet memories filled Halstead Elementary as students enjoyed a special lunch with their families!

Ms. Peck’s class visited Ms. Klein’s room to learn about greater than, less than, and equal to. Students practiced comparing numbers, using the correct symbols, and working together to solve problems. By the end of the lesson, they were confidently identifying which numbers are larger, smaller, or equal.
From 7:10–7:30 AM parents and guardians may join in on the fun by signing in at the front office and escorting their student to the library to find their next great read before the school day begins!
*Please note: students must finish shopping by 7:30 AM to avoid interrupting instruction time.*

Mr. Keller’s 2nd graders put their creativity to the test by building shelters meant to keep animals dry.
The groups worked together to draft a plan and then put the plan to the test. armed only with foam blocks, clay, popsicle sticks, foil and glue our young builders set out to weather the spray bottle storm!
Unity Day, started by PACER's National Bullying. Prevention Center in October 2011, is the signature event
of National Bullying Prevention Month.
This is a day when we can come together to send a visible message of
building commUNITY through kindness, acceptance, and
inclusion.
The call to action is simple: wear and share the color orange.

Reading for Success is a short training designed to give families simple and effective strategies to support their child’s reading at home. You will learn fun ways to build your students' reading confidence, improve their comprehension, and make reading part of your daily routine!
